Today the last thing you want to do is pray. Today God seems distant and far away. Even if you could muster up the motivation to pray it seems like all your thoughts and feelings simply bounce off the ceiling. Now – instead of prayer you are merely muttering a list of expletives directed at God.
You’re not alone. David, an ancient king of Israel who was known as being buddy-buddy with God once wrote these words:
‘How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? (Psalm 13:1)
The point is. You don’t need to filter yourself with God. He knows what you’re feeling and thinking probably even better than you. You’re not going to scare him away.
