There are people I know I can confide in in a crisis. I could call on them any time and they’d come running. I know this because I know what they’re like.

There are also people I wouldn’t call on, because I just don’t know them well enough. It would be awkward. Would they even respond?

Is that what’s keeping you from prayer? Maybe you’re not crying out to God because, really, you just don’t know him well enough. You’re not sure you can trust him to come through for you.

God knows you so very well – and he longs for you to know him. Please hear Jesus’ invitation today: ‘Come to me Just as you are.’
