If God’s in control why is this world still so messed up? Here’s something that might help from Isaiah 9.
‘Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.’ (Isaiah 9v7)
No, this world doesn’t look the way God wants it. But Isaiah’s promise, and our hope, is that Jesus’ mission is to finally set everything right (hint: it looks very good! See Revelation 21v1-6).
Christmas is about celebrating what God has done and is doing, but also about longing for what’s still to come. How could you express that celebration and longing in the carols you sing, the feasts you enjoy or the gifts you give?
