‘A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stump; a God-shaped life is a flourishing tree’ Proverbs 11:28

Nick Groom, scrum-half for the Stormers was talking about his Christian faith at Rondebosch Boys this week. He shared how the need to be the best consumed – and hurt – him when rugby was the main thing in his life. Once things clicked for him in his faith he was able to shift his focus onto God. He ended up playing the best rugby of his life because he felt released from his fear of failing and set free to pursue the thing God had given him.

Is there something you’re being consumed by? What would it take to offer it back to God and start flourishing again?
