How much does your happiness depend on things going right for you? Habakkuk knew things were going to get pretty bad because of God’s judgment back then. But that didn’t stop him from finding joy in God:
‘Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Saviour.’ (Habakkuk 3v17-18)
God is good, and God sees you as his deeply loved child. Is that enough to make you a bit more joyful in God – no matter what else is going wrong?
