“Then the Lord asked him, ‘What is that in your hand?'” (Ex. 4:2) Moses didn’t think he had much to add to God’s master plan for His people. He was just a shepherd with a staff. And yet that’s exactly how God used him. He dared Moses to take just what he had and trust God to use it in ways Moses couldn’t imagine. God turned the staff in Moses’ hand into a snake. It was the sign that got Pharaoh’s attention. Eventually, Pharaoh let God’s people go. And the rest is history.
