I love the story of Miriam in Exodus 2, and it’s because of her incredible courage. She must have been pretty terrified – stepping out of the reeds along the Nile River, approaching a powerful princess who has just found a random baby in a basket (Miriam’s brother), and offering to find a ‘nurse’ (Miriam’s mother) for the baby.
That’s the thing about courage. Being brave doesn’t mean we’re no longer afraid. It means we act – we do the right thing, in the right way, at the right time – in faith, and despite our fear. I know you can be a Miriam in your generation too.
