Earlier this year our family spent a few days at a little farm cottage near Gordons Bay. My daughter was thrilled when the farmer said she could help herself to peaches in the small orchard. I don’t think he realised just how many she would bring home! In a panic I went to check the tree and discovered there was still plenty of fruit. The trees could handle my daughters wild plundering.
That kind of more-than-enough fruit is something Paul prayed for fellow Christians in Col 1:9-12. So much goodness in this prayer! Read these (adapted) words of Paul over yourself today:
Holy Spirit, make me wise and able to understand situations better. Help me to know God more deeply, follow Him more patiently and fill me with His strength.
