I knew we were in trouble when I heard the rifle shot and saw the rifle pointed at us. We had accidentally ridden our motorcycles onto a diamond mine in Angola and were now being held captive by a crazy, scary guard. Eventually someone intervened and let us go. I’ve never been so relieved.

God hates it when people get trapped by things other people do to them – or by things they do to themselves. In Isaiah 58 God urges us to ‘spend ourselves’ doing whatever it takes to set people free.
