What’s the best way to understand the real meaning of Easter? I think it’s a few words Jesus used once over dinner

Jesus was in town for the Passover celebration and was getting ready to be betrayed by one of the disciples, publicly humiliated and mocked, beaten beyond recognition, and hung on a cross to die.

Jesus asked his followers to remember that he gave his body for us and poured out his blood as a sacrifice for us.

‘It’s a new Covenant’ he said. A new way to mend the relationship between God and his people.

A new Covenant – the heart of Easter, insanely good news for all of us who sometimes wonder if we will ever be good enough for God.
