Eminem recently released ‘Headlights’ – an apology to his mom, partly for a devastating song he’d written about her before. He has lots to complain and be angry about but still he says:

‘But regardless I don’t hate you ’cause, Ma / You’re still beautiful to me, ’cause you’re my mom’

Recognising how someone got hurt by words spoken; owning up to mistakes; being willing to let go and forgive; putting people and love first… Sounds a bit like grace in action to me even in the middle of all the messed-up stuff and contradictions of (his) life.

What a mystery grace is!

How might God be working grace into the mess and brokenness of your life?

‘But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’ James 4v6
