What makes faith hard #1: trying to believe in or have a relationship with a God I can’t see…

Did you ever try to grow one of those bean seeds in cotton wool? Not all of my attempts worked but when I got the right mix of water, light (and kept the cat away) I sometimes managed to grow a spindly bean plant.

It’s a bit like that with experiencing a God we can’t see. There’s so much noise and distraction we need to cultivate the right conditions in our lives: time to quietly listen, to read God’s Word, confess sin, to worship and pray with other Christians.

It’s no formula but often we’ll begin to notice God’s presence more when we give God some space in our lives.
