There is an old story about some blind people describing an elephant based strictly on touch. Those that touched the trunk described the elephant as something like a snake. Those on the sides thought it was a wrinkly wall. We wont mention what the men at the back end thought…

If we really want to know God better we need to be open to our blindness and listen to how other people say they experience God and be open to the fact that other people may see and feel God differently than we do ourselves. And then measure that up against how the Bible reveals God to us.

We have a chance to walk away angry and frustrated or with a better understanding. What would you rather choose?
