Soundtrack to a Story – Day 1: ‘As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus was sitting by the roadside begging.’ (Mark 10v47)

If you’ve been able to see all your life you probably can’t imagine what it’s really like to be blind – to live in a world of darkness and not see what everyone else is seeing.

Mark uses blind people in his Gospel story to symbolise the lostness of humanity without God. Our sin blinds us to who God is and who we really are. All we can do is sit by the side of the road, hoping for a miracle.

So what songs or lyrics (secular or Christian) in your phone’s playlist speak to physical or spiritual blindness or just express how Bartimaeus must have been feeling?
