Are you proudly South African? Have you jumped for joy when the South African rugby team scored a try or beamed with pride watching our Olympians winning gold?

Here’s a thought: what Jesus did on the cross changed our citizenship. We’re still South Africans but check this:

‘[God]has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins (Colossians 1v13-14 NLT.)

Because of Jesus we are no longer ‘citizens’ of the kingdom of darkness, we belong to the Kingdom of God. What could it mean to live as a Spirit-filled citizen of God’s Kingdom today?

Have you ever felt accused and condemned by someone? It really sucks doesn’t it? Here’s some good news from Paul:

‘Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one- for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honour at God’s right hand pleading for us’ (Romans 8v33-34)

When it comes to God there is no condemnation for us. You are God’s child, made innocent by Jesus’ death. No matter who tries to condemn you what they say ultimately doesn’t count for much. In God’s eyes you are free from condemnation and that’s what really counts.

Do you feel like you are always messing up? Well, here’s some encouraging news from Paul:

‘For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us to be adopted as his children through Jesus Christ’ (Ephesians 1:4-5)

That’s not a wish, it’s a statement of fact. We are holy people adopted as God’s children – if we have faith in Jesus. How can that fact encourage you to begin living out who you are?

Have you ever been excluded from something? Felt like you don’t belong, or you’re worthless or insignificant?
Read the truth here: ‘Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it’ (1 Corinthians 12v27).
No matter how you feel, knowing Jesus means you are a part of the body of Christ. And there’s a special part for you, just you. God has created you with unique gifts and talents to show fully who Jesus is to this world.
Today, spend some time thinking and praying about the unique qualities that make you, you. #Godsviewofyou #melanie
