Agree with God

Job’s mates didn’t always give him the best advice, but in Job 22:21, Eliphaz tells Job, ‘Agree with God, and be at peace.’

He’s pretty much spot on. Wisdom can be described or explained as agreeing with God. And when we’ve settled that His take on any situation is definitely going to be more accurate than ours, we can try to understand from His perspective, trust Him, and be at peace.

Is there something going on in your life right now, about which you need to agree with God? Proverbs 9:12 reminds us, ‘If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit.’

Franz was a bit of a spoilt brat who thought he knew best. He started saying and doing foolish things against his friends and family’s better judgment. Long story short, he was assassinated by a group called “The Black Hand”. Then, those on one side unfriended those on the other leading to a few fisticuffs (which lasted over 4 years and left around 17 million dead, aka World War 1) – all because Franz would not listen.

The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.” (Proverbs 12:15) Don’t be a “Franz”. Listen to people who listen to Jesus.
