You know when you go to the shop and pick out something you’ve always wanted? And even though it might be expensive, you pay for it anyway. It is valuable to you. Don’t you look after the things that are valuable to you? Don’t you treasure them?

God sees us this way: He sees us as extremely valuable:

1 Peter 2:9 says: You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession.

Walk in this confidence today: that you are so loved, special and extremely precious to the King of Kings.

People say things about us all the time. They are just words, but we take them to heart and believe them. In 2 Samuel, Mephibosheth was called a cripple (i.e. useless) and so saw himself as useless too.

If we allow ourselves to be defined by these lies, we forget our true value. How silly is that? Letting others control us when they don’t really know us.

Don’t let what others say change you. Be defined by HIM who knows you best. And HE says you are loved, adopted, valuable, chosen. So stand up tall and fulfil your destiny.

1 John 3:1

You belong to Him

Read Ephesians 1: 11-14 (

One fact highlighted in the first half of this chapter is God choosing us. At the end Paul writes of those ‘who are God’s possession’. You are chosen as His possession, son or daughter; so, you belong to Him, bought by Him.

Paul says that because we believe, we have the Holy Spirit who secures our future with God.
Since you are chosen and have the Holy spirit inside you, how can you live in worship of Him?
How does knowing you belong to God impact your faith?

You are royalty!

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellency of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light. “Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10

You are a part of God’s people.
