Sometimes we don’t like to be corrected or disciplined. Some of us can’t stand it.

I remember growing up, I never wanted to learn from others. I wanted to learn through my own mistakes, even when I was warned or felt that little tug of the Holy Spirit inside me. I soon made so many mistakes and wasted so much time. But the moment I started to surrender my pride and listen to good and proper correction, that’s when life became so much better.

God can do much more in your life when you are open to correction.

If you spend much time on social media, you will be aware that we live in a very defensive world. Nobody seems to like the idea that someone else might think they are wrong.

But then I read Proverbs 12:1 (

I am reminded that when I am wrong, it is a sign of strength to be able to hear that and do something about it. My life has been made so much stronger by people who I have asked to hold me accountable in terms of what I write and say.
