I remember from Grade R onwards, being absolutely determined to become a doctor. There was no higher calling than saving life! Then my Matric maths marks denied my life-long dream. I was shattered.

Jesus had, however, programmed into me the determination to stand in the doorway of death to save life. He has been faithful in qualifying me to help people to hear Him, which saves their lives (mostly non-medically).

Faithful One – Brain Doerksen

I never enjoyed the quiet hymnal style songs in church as a teenager, to be honest I found them boring! There was one reflective song, however, that got stuck in my head. It would be one of the songs I would start singing under my breath without realising when I was facing a sticky situation (it still is sometimes). Faithful One. The lyrics are all about God never leaving us.

Hebrews 13:5b-6 reminds us of God’s faithfulness to us, in all areas. How will you let the knowledge of God’s faithfulness be a soundtrack to your life today?
