Fake Friends

Eish, sometimes it’s difficult to tell fake from real. With tjommies/friends, it should be different. Why did they post that comment about me? I thought we were friends?

It isn’t easy to accept crit from a friend – but at least when they say it to your face, it’s better than some online chirp. Proverbs 27:5-6 speaks of friends and enemies:

How does this relate to you and your friendships today? Maybe it’s time to make right with a friend. Go for it! It’s never too late to connect in a fresh way. And commit your friendships to God in prayer now.

Peace Makers

Jesus once said “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9)

Essentially, there are two types of people:
Peacemakers or troublemakers.

Which are you?

This Proverb below shows what a troublemaker does:
Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down. As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife – Proverbs 26: 20 – 21

Maybe you need to think about the words you use? Maybe you need to stop talking about others?

How can you be kinder with your words and actions today?

Sweet friendships

How would your friends describe you?
How would you describe your friendships?

Proverbs gives us a great example of a good friendship:

Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence.
– Proverbs 27:9

Are your friends refreshed after hanging out with you? Do you give them life, or do you drain the life from them? Have you ever thought about putting God at the centre of your friendships?

Why not focus on that this week?

Fast & Furious presents: Hobbs & Shaw

In this spin off of the Fast & Furious franchise, we see Hobbs and Shaw being forced, in a way, to work together – and if you have watched the last few movies, you will know that these two don’t get along. #SpoilerAlert – they do become unlikely friends.

Did you know that we are pretty much an unlikely friend of God’s? Sin stops each one of us from being in relationship with the Creator – BUT JESUS! Thank God for Jesus right!? Through Him, we are able to be friends and children of God – no longer slaves to sin!
