Be a gift.

Solomon says, “A person who promises a gift but doesn’t give it is like clouds and wind that bring no rain” (Proverbs 25:14 – https://bit.ly/2Ynh0bd).

Choosing to follow Jesus every day is like gift-wrapping yourself with a tag that reads:

To: My community (family, friends, and even those I don’t hang out with)
Message: I’m asking Jesus to daily fill me with sacrificial love and grace, and I pray it spills over into your life.
From: Me (insert your name)

Imagine you chose to follow Jesus and just stayed the same.

Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Proverbs 17:22 tells us that a merry heart does good like medicine (http://bit.ly/2E8uvhA)

The word ‘merry’: it’s on every Christmas card and Instagram post. It’s easy to feel ‘cheerful and lively’ on Christmas day. What’s not to love about it?

Among the presents, food and family, can you take a moment to think about what makes you merry today? Is it the indescribable gift (2 Corinthians 9:15) we were given in Jesus? Even if we have nothing, we were given everything on this day.

That’s worth getting excited over!

Enjoy the day, be merry, and take some time to thank God for His ultimate gift!

Spiderman – Far away from home

In this Spiderman sequel, we enter a world where Peter Parker is without Tony Stark; Spiderman without his Ironman. You feel all the feels following Avengers End Game.

This got me thinking about how the disciples must have felt after Jesus died, and then again when He ascended into the clouds back to Heaven.

Read Luke 23:44-49 (http://bit.ly/2pLqPPp) and Mark 16:19 (http://bit.ly/33n1VEo)

And just as Tony had a surprise for Peter, which we see towards the end of the movie – Jesus left His disciples (and especially us) with an even greater gift – The Holy Spirit!

Read Acts 1:3-5 (http://bit.ly/34yFKuZ)
