Abominable follows the story of Yi as she tries to get a Yeti, Everest, to his family. We also discover that Yi wishes to visit all the bucket list items her late dad left for her. Along the way they have many obstacles and adventures.

When Yi finally gets Everest home, she realises that she actually went to all of the places on the bucket list!

Life can be chaotic and confusing. Sometimes it’s hard to know where we’re headed. But God always knows, always has a plan and often it is only in looking back that we see how beautifully he has orchestrated things.

Commissioned To Serve

Watch the news yesterday? Listen to the president’s speech? What did you think? President Jacob Zuma was sworn in yesterday and has started his 2nd and final 5-year term as president.

We also have been elected and commissioned to perform a sevice for those who elected us: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

1 Peter 1:1&2 – “To those who are elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:

May grace and peace be multiplied to you.”

Guide me God!

Here’s a great psalm-prayer to hang on to this week – no matter what lies ahead: exams, studying, hectic amounts of work, decisions about the future, or new adventures. Here’s a picture of the kind of God who will be with us:

‘The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honour to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me…’

Why exams God?

Why exams God? It seems like a whole lot of pressure and work to show what I don’t know. I suppose it is hard to see what I really know without being tested? Holy Spirit, help me to have the point of view in life that whatever hard stuff comes up (whether it is exams, relationship, family or whatever) it is a chance to see what I really know or believe in my heart about life, myself and you, God. All I need to remember is that you, God, will never let me down; you’ll never let me be pushed past my limit; you’ll always be there to help me come through it.
