Our Help.

I watched in shock and horror video footage of the looting and destruction going on in areas of KZN I know well that I had called home. Have you seen or experienced the same where you live? It can make us feel like God is M.I.A

Read Psalm 124 (
“If the Lord had not been on our side.” V1.

The truth is that God is on our side.
“Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” V8.

Talk to Him about where you need Him to be on your side.
Your help is in Him.

The help.

Has an idea to help someone ever come to you as you’re chatting to, or thinking about, that person? If you’re a Jesus follower, the Holy Spirit lives in you. He guides you, and often those random (or not!) thoughts are Him prompting you to pray, encourage, or do something practical to help someone out.

Don’t ignore God’s nudge!
Try to get into the habit of acting on it straight away.

Proverbs 3:27-28 ( says, ‘Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. If you can help your neighbour now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.”‘

God gave Moses a specific task. And Moses felt completely inadequate to do it. But in those feelings of “not being good enough”, God said: “Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say” (Exodus4:10-12).

God thinks of you as capable too.

Sometimes we feel like Moses; like we’re not fit/equipped for the job we’ve been given. But the truth is that God will help you. You are capable to do this. Whether it be encouraging your friend, finishing your studies or even carrying on with lifeGod knows you are so capable.

Remember that.

Is it too heavy?

Written your first test of the year yet? Have the teachers loaded you with homework assignments already?

Help has arrived!

Read Exodus 18:14-18 –

Moses’ father in law asks a great question: “Why are you trying to do this all alone?” And gives him sound advice: “This job is too heavy a burden to handle all by yourself.”

If school is too heavy, ask for help. Get a tutor, join a study group, speak to a teacher.

If life is too heavy, ask for help. Chat to a trusted adult, invite Jesus into your struggle, join a youth group.
