Little Drummer Boy

I know Christmas was yesterday and some people have stopped the carols already. But stay with me for a second.

Do you have a favourite Christmas carol? I love ‘Drummer Boy’, and the Pentatonic’s version is particularity great.

I love the story of a poor drummer boy, who didn’t have a gift he thought was worthy enough for the King (Jesus). But he played his drum, he played his best for Him, and the King smiled at him. Pa rum pam pam pam.

Isn’t that the beauty of Jesus?
He just wants us to bring what we have.

Simple as that.

Jesus is Lord – Kanye West

In Jesus is Lord, Kanye uses the words of Philippians 2:9-11. ‘Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord’. Let me repeat that: every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.

This is a reminder that Jesus is the king of everything, everyone and everywhere, and He is the only one who can save us from sin. I wonder how we might live our lives differently if we remember that every day Jesus is Lord over all things.

Pray asking God to show you that He is King of everything: every situation and every moment.

Jesus is King

The world is crazy. Corruption, nuclear war in Korea, a leader assaulting a model and being granted immunity from prosecution. What is happening with our world?

In Psalm 2, we see the leaders of the world fight against God and His anointed King, but God is not worried, no He’s laughing. He is not worried by the world’s plans, because He has put his King on the throne, and no-one can do anything about it. But there is a warning here too. If Jesus is God’s King, He will not be unmoved.
