Whoohoo! You’ve just inherited a huge amount of moneyfor real! You’re super rich. What you going to do? C’mondream a little.

Many people who win loads of money end up unhappy and poor. Weird – huh? “Certain things catch your eye, but pursue only those that capture the heart” (Indian proverb).

God warns us to not get stuck on the stuff: the loving of money and what it can supposedly do for you. Money doesn’t last and there’s way more valuable things in God’s Kingdom.

“Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless” Ecclesiastes 5:10 (

‘Lust for money brings trouble and nothing but trouble. Going down that path, some lose their footing in the faith completely and live to regret it bitterly ever after.’ 1 Timothy 6:10

How tragically true those words that Paul wrote to young Timothy are! It’s estimated that corruption and fraud costs South Africans more than R100-billion each year. Think of the things we could do with that money!

Paul continues: ‘But you, Timothy, man of God: Run for your life from all this. Pursue a righteous lifea life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy.’

Where does a lust for money show itself around you? What can you do to say ‘No!’ to that this week?

It’s corruption focus week. Like this FB page to make your voice heard:
