CODA

Ruby is the only hearing member of her deaf family. She has so much responsibility to carry as her family (especially her parents) rely on her for so much. But Ruby also has a big (seemingly impossible) dream for her life.

Do you feel burdened by the responsibilities and challenges you might face because of your home situation?
Did you know that despite all that, God has placed dreams and desires in your heart that He wants you to pursue?
It may look IMPOSSIBLE – But with God, ALL things are possible – especially when it comes to His plans and purpose for our lives!

He’s all that.

An interesting remake of the really good 1999 version, She’s all that. This movie was not great, quite cheesy, and I’m not sure whether this was a good depiction of teens today. What is not far fetched is how we can become consumed with social media life and how many followers we have.

Social media can become ALL about us. It can distract us from what’s really important in life. Jesus is all about us being focused more on Him and less on ourselves.

John 3:30(https://bit.ly/399yutR) says, “He must become greater and greater, and I must becomelessandless.”

Spin

15-year-old Rhea is from a conservative family. So, when she wants to pursue her passion of creating DJ mixes, there’s a few hurdles she needs to jump over do so. This doesn’t stop her. She works hard and pushes through.

Proverbs 21:5(https://bit.ly/3DZIfZJ) says, “Good planning and hard work leads to success

That thing that you’re really good at, God put that in you for a reason. Some things that we’re naturally good at will take some planning and hard work for us to succeed in it. Don’t allow a little sweat and tears to stop you from pursuing that passion God created you with. Keep at it.

Black Widow

We journey back to where it all started for Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. She has to face an evil she thought she rid the world of, and deal with past broken relationships. We ‘meet’ the ‘family’ she never speaks about. Besides all the deep emo stuff, this movie is packed with action from start to finish.

Relationships are tough. Facing issues with those that are your nearest and dearest is even tougher. But this movie reminded me that we simply can’t live our lives alone. God made us to be in community and surrounded by family – whatever that may look like.
