Prisoner – Miley Cyrus

This song is about being a prisoner. Being stuck in something and unable to get out. Unable to escape.

Being caught in a cycle of sin and addiction can feel like being a prisoner.
Psalm 32:5 ( talks about confessing our sin and receiving forgiveness.
Romans 6:18 ( says Jesus has set us free from our sin.

When you feel trapped in sin, there are two good things to do. Firstly, pray! Remember who God is. Secondly, find a mature Christian you trust and tell them. Ask them to help you on your journey to freedom from that sin.

What sin do you need help with today?

Mirror Mirror!

Snow White’s evil stepmom had a magical mirror that fed her obsession about being the most beautiful woman. Imagine a magical mirror that showed the Inside You – your secret thoughts, hidden sins and all the shameful, ugly things you’ve done. Yoh – that would be one mucho ugly reflection!

Fortunately, God doesn’t run away screaming from us (even though he knows EVERYTHING). “God put the wrong on him (Jesus) who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God” (2 Corinthians 5:21 – Therefore, when God looks at us he doesn’t remember our sins anymore (Isaiah 43:25 –

We’re totally forgiven.
Thank you Lord!

Don’t hide it

What do you do when you sin?

Sometimes our embarrassment makes us hide it. We fear that if people knew, we would lose out. However, guilt and fear hinder us from enjoying life. Plus, when found out, we get into more trouble.

Proverbs 28:13 ( shows it’s better to own up and get help. You will be punished, but you will be freed from guilt and fear; and the respect and trust you gain from owning up will help you prosper. Moreover, you can get support from the Holy Spirit and others to defeat the power of that sin over your life.

Don’t hide your sin, it’s not worth it!

Fast & Furious presents: Hobbs & Shaw

In this spin off of the Fast & Furious franchise, we see Hobbs and Shaw being forced, in a way, to work together – and if you have watched the last few movies, you will know that these two don’t get along. #SpoilerAlert – they do become unlikely friends.

Did you know that we are pretty much an unlikely friend of God’s? Sin stops each one of us from being in relationship with the Creator – BUT JESUS! Thank God for Jesus right!? Through Him, we are able to be friends and children of God – no longer slaves to sin!
