The Climb

Hiking is not my most favourite thing to do in the world. When I’m hiking with friends I often find myself singing “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus as we near the end. These kind of moments always makes me think about the times when life gets so difficult that you have to remind yourself to push through.

In James 1:4 ( we finds this same message being spoken to us. Keep going. Your endurance is growing. On those days you feel like giving up, remember James’ words. With Christ’s strength, you can persevere through anything you face.

Our strength

The hook to Drakes’ song, God’s Plan talks about people wishing that bad could happen to him. Don’t you just hate it when there are people around you that seem to want to see you fail? It could be at school or even in your family. Things they say can be very discouraging.

But God is not like that!

We can go to Him to help us when we feel lost and don’t know what to do. He will never look down on us or make us feel inadequate. You can trust Him to be your strength in good and bad times.

Feeling weak?

We were never meant to live this life in and with our own strength. Eventually our own strength runs out and we’re left feeling tired, weak, overwhelmed.
God knows this about us. It’s how He made us. We were made to lean on Him for ALL that we need.

What He wants us to know about Him is that He gives us strength and power to “walk and not grow weak, to run and not get tired, to fly as high as eagles”!
His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 –

She had to hide who she really was in order to save her father from having to fight in battle. But you also realise that she didn’t want to be that girly girl, she wanted to be a warrior. By the end of the movie, after facing a lot, she’s braver, bolder and more courageous than ever.

Some of us go through more challenges in life than others but the purpose of the challenge is the same = GROWTH. God wants us living brave, bold, and courageous lives for Him. He wants us to persevere and push through – all the while relying on Him fully.
